Position Overview:
Santis Health, a leading Canadian consulting firm focusing exclusively on the health care and life sciences sectors, is looking to hire an Intern to support our work in Atlantic Canada. This is a remote position with preference to those living in the Halifax Regional Municipality. This ambitious, self-motivated individual will work primarily with Santis’ VP, Atlantic Canada on a range of internal- and client-facing projects. Santis is open to a range of work term lengths, but longer terms are preferred.
This individual will provide entry-level consulting services in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this work will be communications, marketing and event co-ordination and management. This work will also include project management and the creation or refinement of presentation materials and communications collateral – as well as administrative duties as needed. This is a paid position with the opportunity for extension.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring Atlantic Canada health-related news, announcements, and market information, and assessing this information for relevance to a range of clients.
- Working closely with Santis colleagues to manage a wide range of client projects and deliverables.
- Tracking and researching emerging and evolving public policy issues, including monitoring federal and provincial laws, regulations, and policies that could impact the digital health sector.
- Developing communications tools including slide decks, reports, social media content, news releases, etc.
- Liaising with clients as part of ongoing project management responsibilities.
- Developing project management plans and keeping the project team focused on meeting multiple, tight timelines.
- Providing administrative assistance to team members of Santis Health, including scheduling, expense filing, maintaining client files, etc.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education is required. Focus on communications, marketing, politics, policy, health studies, and/or business management is preferred. Post-graduate training would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of politics and health policy is an asset.
- A solid mix of project management, policy analysis, research, and strategy experience.
Required Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Strong research skills.
- Superior priority-setting and time-management skills with an ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and creating new processes.
- High level of initiative, curiosity and professionalism.
- Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.
- Graphic design skills (including the Adobe Creative Suite) would also be an asset.
- Event management skills are an asset.
