Thank you for joining the conversation at the inaugural Santis Health Women’s Health Connections Breakfast.
Our March 24 gathering in Toronto mobilized leaders from across the health and life sciences landscape. The energy in the room confirms what we already know: the opportunities for innovation in women’s health have never been greater—or more complex.
Key Themes:
- Women’s health is a clear priority for all of us to tackle. Change doesn’t come from one person but from the collaborative approach –from femtech to preventative care to policy change, and more.
- We can’t solve what we don’t know. Although women make up 51% of Canada’s population, only 7% of funded health research focuses specifically on women’s health (Statistics Canada, 2022, Deloitte, 2025 and Femtech, 2025). Insight and meaningful change begins by prioritizing research and discovery.
- We need to broaden the definition of women’s health beyond reproduction, including chronic disease, hormonal health, support for caregiving, and mental health strategies. Women spend 24% more of their lives in poor health than men, driven by conditions that are unique to or affect them differently (McKinsey Health Institute, 2025).
We’d love your feedback. Please take a moment to fill out our post-event survey.
